Coming soon: Coming May 12, the picture is a fresh take on the original German movie SMS für Dich (Text for You)

An official synopsis from Sony Pictures Releasing notes that the leading lady sent the texts ‘not realizing the number was reassigned to Rob Burns’ new work phone.’

‘A journalist, Rob is captivated by the honesty in the beautifully confessional texts,’ it reads.

‘When he’s assigned to write a profile of megastar Céline Dion, he enlists her help in figuring out how to meet Mira in person… and win her heart.’

The trailer begins with Mira sitting in a one-on-one meeting with a colleague and feeling bleak about life.

Chatting about their jobs as producers of children’s books, she says to her counterpart, ‘Maybe it’s better to prepare them — life will inevitably crush their hopes and dreams.’

The viewer is then clued in on the fact that Mira is grieving the death of her boyfriend.

A friend asks her, ‘How are you holding up?’ and Chopra Jonas responds, ‘You know. I’m just wearing my dead boyfriend’s shirt and texting his old number.’

Next, Rob is introduced when a co-worker presents him with a serendipitous work phone. From there, the texts begin to pour in, with the first one reading: ‘I miss you so much. There’s an aching inside of me.’
