This film is inspired from true story of Sagarika Chakraborty and events that happened with her in Norway. Sagarika not only had to fight against the whole nation to get her children back but also against her own husband and family. She had to fight against the labels of mentally unstable, mentally unfit mother put by the Norwegian authorities.
In May 2011, Anurup and Sagarika lost custody of their toddlers – three-year-old Avigyan and one-year-old daughter Aishwarya – after Norwegian authorities objected to her hand-feeding the baby equating it to force-feeding
Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, which also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, is based on a true story. The drama features Rani as a mother who has to fight for her children’s custody against an entire country. The upcoming film is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani of Emmay Entertainment, along with Zee Studios.
