Young Actors Retreat is the perfect getaway to see your favorite stars interact with one another and their true personalities. A wholesome and hilarious reality series that shows a different side of your favorite actors and actresses.

Young Actors Retreat is a South Korean reality TV series following the activities of the stars from Love in the Moonlight, Itaewon Class, and The Sound of Magic. Brought together by the director Kim SeongYoon, the main actors and actresses of these shows relive their school retreat days as they embark on an adventure to meet and compete against stars of other hit dramas.

Splitting the cast into their respective dramas, the teams begin to reunite at each drama’s key filming sites. However, appear at the wrong film site and your team loses valuable lunch money! Despite the initial struggles, each drama’s cast is successfully reunited and begin to mingle with one another at basecamp, Boryeong.

Despite being such talented and personable actors and actresses on the screen, Young Actors Retreat shows a different side of these beloved celebrities. The first few episodes of the show start off a little slow as the cast begin to interact and meet one another. Ironically, many of the stars on this show are introverts. As a fellow introvert, I find it reassuring and cute to see celebrities being nervous and awkward to meet one another!

However, through various games, horror training, zip-lining tours, flying chair tournaments, and food truck operations the teams slowly begin to open up to one another. With stiff penalties and meals on the line, the competition gets fierce and leaves viewers laughing in tears.

Despite being only 8 episodes long, this TV series is a quick break from dramas and allows the viewers to see the true personalities of their favorite dramas’ casts. From witty comments to sheer confusion, Young Actors Retreat is a refreshing reminder that these celebrities are also human. Fans are also treated with each drama’s taglines sprinkled throughout the episodes and learn interesting facts about the dramas’ signature scenes. Fun fact, the famous scene of Park SeoJoon, Kwon Nara, and Kim Dami running in Itaewon Class took 5 hours to film!

As the actors and actresses retell old stories, they build new friendships and memories as they take a well-deserved break from their busy schedules. Overall, if you are a fan of Love in the Moonlight, Itaewon Class, or The Sound of Magic this show is a great opportunity to watch the casts reunite and the behind-the-scene dynamics of their relationships. Or if you enjoy watching celebrity interactions and love watching the skepticism and distrust associated with Korean variety shows, Young Actors Retreat is the perfect breezy series for you.
