Imagine slow-motion fighting sequences and a hero who is God-like, literally. The movie follows the story of Ajay Devgn who has been released after a decade from prison and is on his way to meet his 10-year-old daughter at an orphanage, his own child who he has never seen. However, caught in a serious mafia fight where 40 policemen have been drugged he is the only one who can save their life (of course!). Tabu acts as the strong female lead who is an astonishing police officer and their chemistry together is what makes the fight against multiple mafia groups a success. A very obvious fight between Good and Evil while highlighting that good people can do bad things like the god Bholenath used to.
Ajay Devgn’s acting and energy is phenomenal as he does what is required of him well and Tabu is outstanding through the course of the movie. However, some music effects felt repetitive and cheap and the animated production quality was bad. It felt as though we were in a video game jumping from one scene to another. In an action movie, the fighting sequences are the highlight of the plot but not the plot itself. By the end of it, the fights were too fake and boring and a lot of the younger crowd was laughing, myself included because it was what Bollywood films are loved and hated for- extremely unreal drama during conflicts and high tension which feels fake alongside the cant do without emotional story line.

The good part though is, there isnt intense romance for no reason, I expected worse but was pleasntly surprised however the random introduction of the romantic song felt weird but worked out well as it was a good break from the build up in tension. The emotional story which was what the plot was supposed to be running on felt like it was forced into the story- it had to be cut into the action which is what kept the movie going and took up most of the time so much so that when the climax happened you never felt that emotional.
All that kept aside, if you want to see a Bollywood action movie that is all nonsense and get a good kick out of people cherring when Ajay Devgn makes his entry, feel the grandiosity of Bollywood please go watch this. By no means is it a bad Bollywood movie but just a movie, well there are things to be said about it. Don’t take the seriousness to you heart and get a good smile out of it because no matter how old he get- watching Ajay Devgn single handedly fighting tons of gang men is always a pleasurebale sight only to be supported if not outweughed by Tabu’s excellent acting. If you have the time- go watch it as a one timer but don’t expect this to be an award-winning work of Art as it is afterall Ajay Devgn’s directorial debut.
