Organizers have announced the commencement of a two-week-long festival to commemorate the 10th debut anniversary of the K-pop phenomenon, BTS.
Titled “BTS’ 10th Anniversary Festa,” the event will be hosted in collaboration with the Seoul metropolitan government until June 25, taking place at various locations throughout the capital city. Under the banner of “BTS presents everywhere,” the festival aims to celebrate the milestone with the band’s loyal fanbase, as it has done annually during the BTS Festa.
Throughout the festival, prominent landmarks in Seoul, including the Sevit floating island on the Han River, N Seoul Tower in Mount Nam Park, Seoul City Hall, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and the World Cup Bridge, will be adorned in purple, the symbolic color associated with the group. Additionally, nighttime media facade shows or purple illuminations will grace these locations.
Moreover, congratulatory outdoor advertisements will decorate strategic spots such as Samseong and Euljiro 1-ga subway stations, Teheranno, and Myeongdong streets. The Hybe building in the Yongsan area will feature graffiti art displaying portraits of BTS members.
International fans will not be left out, as outdoor advertisements will be placed in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Osaka.
The festival’s main event, known as BTS Festa@Yeouido, will be held in Han River Park, Yeouido, on Saturday. Attendees can enjoy various programs, including the BTS History Wall, an exhibition showcasing the band’s stage costumes, a special sculpture commemorating the anniversary, and a booth offering hands-on experiences with tattoo stickers.
At 5 p.m., team leader RM will personally engage with fans at the “ARMY Lounge.” Following this, a magnificent fireworks display will take place at 8:30 p.m., accompanied by BTS songs and narrated by member Jungkook. Both RM’s talk program and the fireworks display will be livestreamed online for fans worldwide to enjoy.
Fans can also purchase official BTS merchandise at The Hyundai Seoul, a department store in Yeouido. Furthermore, a BTS stamp zone will be established at the Lotte Cinema chain theater in Lotte World Tower.
In anticipation of their anniversary, BTS released a new digital single titled “Take Two” on Friday, featuring all the members.
The heartfelt song dedicated to their fans quickly soared to the top of the iTunes Top Songs charts in an impressive 92 countries worldwide, including the United States and Britain. Additionally, it claimed the top spot on Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart, further showcasing the global popularity of the group.
