Our new favourite Pakistani tv show obsession is Pyar Ke Sadqay. Pyar Ke Sadqay centers around Mahjabeen (Yumna Zaidi) and Abdullah (Bilal Abbas Khan), two funny and cute misfits who fall in love.
Mahjabeen is from a poor family, while Abdullah is from an affluent one (we promise this show isn’t as cliche as it sounds) but has a dark secret: an abusive stepfather. Abdullah and Mahjbeen are both in love with other people, but things go wrong with them and they end up getting married to each other. However, Abdullah’s stepfather, who is in love with Mahjabeen (yes, this is crazy), plots to break them up.
Although this show isn’t over yet, we’ve really been enjoying both the cute romance as well as the twisted-ness. Bilal Abbas Khan and Omair Rana (who plays the stepfather) are two people you cannot stop watching. Especially the scenes between them are tense and electric. Yumna Zaidi is beautiful, looking the part and acting super well.
This show is not for binge watching. A new episode comes out every Thursday, which really heightens the suspense. Every episode ends in a cliffhanger, which we both love and hate. Also, the soundtrack is sublime. Do yourself a favor and start watching it NOW so that you can freak out with us when it ends. We can’t wait to see what else this show brings, stay tuned for our review when it ends
