BLUF: Prequel of the popular running television series, Anupamaa, this series is the story of Anupama when married to a misogynst Vanraj, a few years into their marraige. While her kids Toshu and Samarth are young, she has the support of her grand mother-in-law Moti-Ben to pursue her career as a dancer. Her husband and her mother-in-law remain opposed to her identity and dreams.

Were you expecting something different than a daily soap here? Nope. This is lather. Mr Shahi launches his daughter Ishika as producer (ishahi LLP) with these 11 episodes,1 of which they just dropped on Hotstar/ Hulu.
Why is it a special? No clue. There is nothing special about it. Neither the tone, nor the pace, nor the length – nor the writing.
The story starts with Anupama’s cowhood , shows her relationship with Vanraj’s grandmother and Baa’s Mother in law , a progressive woman and how she is a devoted wife to her husband and a sanskari bahu.
Vanraj is invited to an office party and asked to bring his wife along but he doesn’t want to take Anupama because she cannot pronounce “sorry” properly.
Any case, the grand mom makes Anu get ready to go to the party and in the precap we see Anu getting an offer to visit the USA to perform her dance. Watching her get the opportunity, Vanraj is displeased. What’s new?
No idea if they will drop the series episodes daily or consecutive weeks or how?
Who is the audience of this show? Why was this released on the streamer where the audience for this show does not exist ? Who is this content intended for?
A few episodes down, it is extremely clear that there is no break from regressive content from this maker.
We still do not understand why the web needed this prequel. Was it for us to understand how big a cow Anupama was? We already knew it. Was it for us to understand how big of a snake Vanraj is? If a daily visit from him to our screens is not enough, why so much accentuating through a web show too?
Was it to drive home that Leela has egomaniacal issues? We can see that too in the daily soap.
We still cannot understand why the web needed 11 extra episodes of a back story to establish what had already been established. FFS cannot take that sooooory soooory soooooooory anymore. Stop it now please. Anupama has the ability to learn every damn thing in the world in a jiffy except maybe a few words of proper english pronounciation. How bright.
Now a very weird looking ex of Vanraj is back who actually looks predatorily at him and visits his home. He plays the perfect husband but cannot stop thinking about their intimate exchange.
Leela tells her son to ensare his wife to stop her from leaving for the USA where she must go to perform for a dance competition. So Vanraj fake pretends to want Anupama and sleeps with her to show her how much he needs her to be with him.
So painful to watch the cow version of Anupama.
