ABHAY SEASON 3 IS WORTH THE BINGE

CAST: Kunal Khemu, Asha Negi, Rahul Dev, Tanuj Virwani, Divya Agarwal, Nidhi Singh, Rituraj Singh, Elnaaz Nourozi

DIRECTOR: Ken Ghosh

If you are in the thriller game, then Kunal Kemmu’s Abhay Season 3 should be on your binge list this weekend. We have always felt that Kunal Kemmu is one of the actors from the Indian content scene who has always been unrated and he keeps over delivering and beating his own levels of excellence.

In Season 3 of Abhay, ACP Abhay Pratap Singh (Kunal Kemmu) is all set to battle new threats.  A menacing cult leader (Vijay Raaz) is the new dark force. Abhay and his team are always on their toes, but they must race against time to save lives, and solve the violent crimes taking place in the state.

Throughout its Seasons, the strongest suit for Abhay has been its very sinister, cruel and well defined villians.Through all the hour long episodes of Season 3, it was difficult to stop binging. The hooks and the thrills are as compelling as the actors on the screen.

Kunal Kemmu delivers one more time with his body language, voice modulation and the brood of someone who has been through enough trauma getting into the heads of these criminals, he is as perfect as an actor can portray Abhay as a character. More of him please.

The hooks and the triggers of the episodes are real edge of the seat and is a testimony for real good writing. The way unpredictability is woven into the series, demands the audience attention throughout.

Vijay Raaz is fabulous as Mrityu and can drive the audience to literal jitters even with his limited screen time and arc. Tanuj Virwani and Divya Agarwal have very interesting roles as a social media power couple Kabir and Harleen. Rahul Dev, another brilliant actor, who makes a fleeting appearance as Avtar, is again brilliant in his limited screen space. Asha Negi and Nidhi Singh continue from their roles from the earlier seasons as Sonam and Khushboo respectively and follow a great character arc that deserves to be developed further.

The cinematography, camera work ( some shots of Chandigarh- Delhi Hwy are out of the world), editing are all super. The action direction is extraordinary and very well executed.

Overall the execution of this season is world class and we absolutely love this crime thriller more and more as the seasons go by. It is an essential crime thriller binge list.
