South Korean actor Kang Tae Oh, who recently starred in the hit drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo and instantly became popular on the internet for his role as Lee Jun Ho, officially enlisted in the military on September 20. It is known that all abled South Korean men have to do 18 months of mandatory military service and enlist by age 28-30.
Kang Tae Oh on Tuesday afternoon was seen greeting the media and the fans. He had donned a white printed jumper. He seemed grateful as many fans showed up to support him on an emotional day. A day prior, the actor took to his Instagram account to show his shaved head. He wrote, “Thank you for your support and overflowing love. I will come back lively. See you soon.” The actor will complete his military service in 2024.
Before enlisting, Extraordinary Attorney Woo marks his last drama and will return as Lee Jun Ho in season 2 in 2024. Meanwhile, he recently also reunited with the cast and crew of his drama Run On ahead of his enlistment. His co-stars Im Siwan, Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, and Shin Se Kyung, as well as director Lee Jae Hoon and writer Park Si Hyun were in attendance to support Kang.
Kang Tae Oh debuted as a part of the actor group 5urprise under Fantagio with the web series ‘After School: Lucky or Not’. He has since appeared in supporting roles in the dramas ‘The Tale of Nokdu’, ‘My First First Love’, ‘Run On’ and ‘Doom at Your Service’. However, his lead role as Lee Jun Ho in the law-based drama ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ in June 2022 shot him to fame. Acting as a part of the litigation team, his chemistry with Park Eun Bin is what impressed the fans. In his last drama before enlistment, the actor saw a lot of support come his way.
