Plan A Plan B: Another “Total Opposite Couple”

This movie is about a divorce lawyer and a matchmaker with a broken heart work through their troubles as they work in opposite offices. The two are total opposites but this romantic comedy will show you how two opposites may attract

Cast: Riteish Deshmukh, Tamannaah Bhatia

Director: Shashanka Ghosh

We have all seen it before, two polar opposites stuck in the same situation and falling in love. Sounds like an idea for a romantic comedy! This movie is about a divorce lawyer and a matchmaker with a broken heart work through their troubles as they work in opposite offices. Both differ in opinions and professions, and they keep fighting with each other constantly. The rest of the story is about how they fell for each other.

This movie was very to the bone dry. The two protagonists often were hard to relate with and many of the situational humor bits and jokes did not land. At the same time, the script for this movie made legendary actors like Ritesh Deshmukh and Tamannaah Bhatia hard to come at the role with emotion. In fact, when there are times to maybe let some development play out, the next situation and its context would be very rushed out. This made it feel really forced.

This film is also way to predictable to add any new value to the viewers. The events in the movie often felt pretty forced and from the beginning we were able to take a guess on what happens in the end. This makes any develpoment the film has seem anti-climatic as the pacing of the show does not allow for much development.

At the same there were some good acting performances. Ritesh Deshmukh performed very well in the given role. The actor conveyed the pain deep inside him well with his expressions. Tammannah Bhatia, as the matchmaker, did justice to her role. The actress was honest in her performance and added value to this wafer-thin plot. At the same time, the music was solid, delivered by Bann Chakraborthy and Yug Bhusal.

Overall, this film does not add anything new to your romcom experiences. A theme that has been shown in other movies before does not deliver when compared to some of the greats out there. On top of that, there was not a lot of emotional depth due to the pacing and poor writing.
