The long-awaited return of the hit Netflix series adaptation of ‘When Dimple Met Rishi’ left us with broken hearts. We last left off on a cliffhanger with Dimple and Naughty America in a crying makeout session that seems to have set off the presses on campus. While Dimple doesn’t fully understand her feelings for Harsh, he never pressures her to understand what that spark was.
In the meantime, it seems that Rishi, in an attempt to make everything right with Namrata, causes a chain reaction of events that leads to lie after lie. Namrata is truly left a victim and ostracized on campus through various forms of bullying. This, unfortunately, haunts more than just her, and Celina faces an inner struggle with her sexuality as she sees Namrata fall for a guest teacher in class.
One thing we’re incredibly happy to see is the toxic social media couple break up. Whether it’s body dysmorphia or hair loss: the cheating, lying, and gaslighting that occurs between them is long overdue for a shot of karma. Both Simran and Krish are horrible people that hide insecurities with two-faced actions but we are sorry to see that a Tinder flame is what finally breaks them apart (poor Sim).
Overall, this season is full of fun plot twists and some expected couple moments, *cough* Zeenat and the professor *cough*. Do Dimple and Rishi get together? You have to watch to find out. But if you aren’t convinced by any of the above, the character development in this season is simply unparalleled and everyone comes to learn and understand their inner motivations. We’re happy to see that some of them even seek therapy! That doesn’t mean we don’t see broken hearts that shouldn’t be broken (sorry Harsh) and characters that don’t deserve a happy ending, get it anyway (we’re looking at you, Dimple).
