CAST Ayushmann Khurrana, Jaideep Ahlawat, Harsh Chayya,
DIRECTOR: Anirudh Iyer
With some seriously laughter evoking moments, this movie breezes its 2 plus hours of a fun laden plot that leaves you wanting more of Ayushmann and Jaideep.
Manav Khuranna (Ayushmann Khurrana) wraps up an action sequence while shooting for a film in Haryana. An incident involving a brash Jat youth ends with a fatal accident, and Manav has to escape quickly lest he gets embroiled. He makes a dash for England, and finds himself in all kinds of trouble as the dead guy’s brother Bhoora ( Jaideep Ahlawat) follows him there for revenge.
The movie is fast, things happen quickly, plot twists are surprises and it delivers a punch with the dialogues, one-liners, situational comedy and the amazing action sequences. Pepper that with a swaggalicious Ayushmann and a poker faced Jaideep – you have a winner.
The funniest laugh out loud sequences were the ones with the Indian television anchors coming for Manav’s blood, instigating theories. The guys were a hoot. A special shoutout to the guy who played Arunabh Goswami. The scenes are so cleverly inserted into the storyline that it makes you chuckle everytime as hastags against bollywood get created and consiparies cooked.
Then enters the most comical Bhai element and the script gets funnier. Maanav Khurana, is the star who has just rejected a biopic of a gangster because he wants to stay away from ‘bhai log and underworld’ and the Bhai wants to show off his power.
Iyer, who has also written the story expertly creates the sequences in so much speed that you stop questioning logic and prep yourself for what new surprise the plot will unfold.
Ayushmann steps outside of his boy next door comfort zone and makes you believe his Manav avatar.
Neeraj Yadav’s screenplay is superb and weaves a well-laid out story for you to devour. The ight sequences are extremely well choreographed. Kaushal Shah’s cinematography gets the frame right.
The bg score was superb with some foot taping rehashes with Nora and Malaika which are extremely classy. But shoutout to D’Evil’s rap scores ( Asli Action Chalu , ), and Vayu’s writing. Parag Chhabra for the theme music.
That one Akshay Kumar scene was better than most of his 2022 releases TBT.
Enjoyed every bit of the movie. Coming soon to Netflix.
