THE POEF (Profanity Obscenity Expletives Factor): Punjabi
THE MEAT AND POTATOES: A story about a few confused young people, in and out of shallow alliances. The protagonists were steamrolled in a story about ancillary characters that make up the non-existent challenges in their lives. The guy wants to marry a girl who could fund his restaurant. And the girl- we couldn’t figure out what she wanted. Even when she said she wanted something- she didn’t seem convinced of her wanting it.
IN THE ZONE
Just stay in the Zone. Will you? Vikrant Massey is cute, convincing as confused, yet with all the superpowers that he comes with in being a convincing character, the story just does not allow him to convince us to even feel empathetic towards him.
Yami, being the seasoned actor that she is, could not convince us of the sincerity of her shallow character
Therefore, the story never clicked for the two actors, we were not led into the cogency of the story in any of the scenes.
FWAR
We are confused. We kept scratching our heads about what the entire song and dance was all about. We were excited about the “Saavan mein Lag Gayi Aag” dance but even that could’nt get us excited about the story surrounding it. Had the Director just shot the dance sequence instead of the movie, perhaps we could be feeling justified about the time spent in watching the scenes – hoping, that at some point in time, a revelation of some sort may bring some credibility into he plot.
Let’s just leave the rest unsaid.
WHAT WE LOVED: Vikrant, who is raining Vikrant, hallelujah.
Yami is yummy!
Saavan Mein Lag Gayi Aag is back for our local bollywoodles to get their dances choreod on. And parts of the soundtrack with “Kaala Shah Kaala” as well as the soulful “Rubaru”.
WHAT WE MISSED: The entire story. And the logic.
