Kiara Advani is set to join forces with Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr as part of the star-studded ensemble of Yash Raj Films’ “War 2,” as per sources.
Advani made her debut in the successful movie “Fugly” in 2014 and has since built an impressive repertoire with an array of hits such as “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” (2016), “Bharath Ane Nenu” (2018), “Kabir Singh” (2019), “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” and “Jug Jugg Jeeyo” (both in 2022). Additionally, she gained recognition for her role in the Netflix anthology “Lust Stories” (2018) and the direct-to-streaming Prime Video film “Shershaah” (2021).
At the helm of “War 2” is director Ayan Mukerji, whose previous work includes steering Disney’s Indian mythology-inspired superhero flick “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.”
The brainchild of producer Aditya Chopra, this espionage universe took flight with the Tiger franchise, headlined by Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. It began its journey with “Ek Tha Tiger” in 2012, followed by “Tiger Zinda Hai” in 2017, and then extended with “War” in 2019, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The latest addition to this cinematic universe, “Pathaan,” which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, has emerged as the highest-grossing Indian movie of the year thus far, raking in $130 million. Collectively, the four movies have amassed an impressive $300 million at the box office.
The spy universe is set to expand further with “Tiger 3,” slated for a release in November, during the festive Diwali season. Furthermore, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are set to share the screen in the eagerly awaited “Tiger vs Pathaan,” with production scheduled to kick off in January 2024.
