One of the most anticipated films set to release in 2023 from the Tamil Film Industry is biggie ‘Maamannan’. Now as per reports, Maamannan’s post-theatrical rights have already been sold to Netflix. Well considering the star power on board the project, it is no surprise that Netflix was ready to acquire its OTT rights so long before release.
‘Maamannan’ is Mari Selviraj’s next after the critically acclaimed hit Dhanush-starrer ‘Karnan’ so there are huge expectations from this one as well. The movie stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh, and Vadivelu. Stalin will also be producing the film under his production house Red Giant Movies. The makers have gotten the maestro A.R. Rahman on board and will be the first collaboration between the music legend and Mari Selvaraj, who has also written the film.
Not much has been revealed regarding the movie adding to the curiosity amongst the audience besides the movie being a political thriller. Fahadh Fasil and Keerthi Suresh being in the movie will help the film get good recognition in the Malayalam and Telugu markets.
Fahadh is still basking in the success of his last Tamil blockbuster ‘Vikram’, while Keerthy’s last Tamil film was the much appreciated Prime Video direct release ‘Saani Kaayidham’. Beloved actor Vadivelu’s presence only adds to the charm of the movie.
The first poster of ‘Maamannan’ was released months back to much celebration among the fans. The shoot has been completed and the movie is reportedly in the post-production phase. It is slated to release next year.
