Actor Park Eun-bin of ENA’s hit series “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” will receive the Rising Star award at a ceremony hosted by the Critics Choice Association, according to the association on Friday.
Park’s award will be given out during the Asian Pacific Cinema and Television awards ceremony set to take place on Nov. 4 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. It aims to honor talents and creatives in the Asian American Pacific Islander community. This year marks its inaugural event.
Park will take home the Rising Star Award for Television for her role as the autistic lawyer in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” which aired from June to August.
The show, during its 16-episode run, earned the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s 10 most-watched non-English series for most of July and until it ended in August. Though starting out with a viewership rating of 0.9 percent, that number surged to the 15-percent range for later episodes.
Korean directors Park Chan-wook and Hwang Dong-hyuk will also receive awards. Park is set to be awarded the Director Award for Film for his movie “Decision to Leave” which was released in June, and Hwang with the Director Award for Television for his Emmy-winning Netflix’s series, “Squid Game” (2021).
