CAST: Jennifer Winget, Karan Wahi, Reem Shaikh, Sanjay Nath
DIRECTOR: Aniruddha Rajderkar
The series starts with introducing Anushka Raisinghani, a lawyer, who may not be someone you would hire to save yourself from murder charges. She is not aggressive at all. Despite that, it seems the series is hell-bent on glorifying her point of view so let’s play ball with it for a while.
Her father is an epic figure in the Legal circles and the managing partner of the firm where she works. He disagrees with her “Soft” approach and wants to push her to bring some aggression into her approach but she wants to keep her “ideals”.
Moving on, she is wearing a shimmering backless at a party and bumps into smashing hot Virat, her ex from years ago who just moved back to town after proving his mettle for her dad at their Delhi office.
Not only is he back but he wants her back too. In a dance of wits, the two of them trapeze their way into a battle of yes or no to rekindle the relationship.
In comes Ankita, an intern desperate to be at the firm because of a hidden agenda. She has been rejected several times but it seems there is an ulterior motive for her revenge.
The first episode ends with Raisinghani Senior crashing his car in an accident and the vultures moving in to gain power at the firm. Virat and Anushka duel. They settle at Anushka taking the chair if she wins the case of an actress who murdered her boyfriend in rage in court.
Then, the content suffers. Unlike the legal show that Sony Liv presented earlier ( Your Honor, Guilty Minds), with really well-written case laws – this case and its resolution were pre-functionary and seemed synthetic. We do hope that improves as the series proceeds otherwise the series will just be based on the hot steam that Jennifer and Karan produce when they appear together on screen.
Streams on Sony Liv.
