BLUF:
Inspired by the sentiments of a diplomat, whose romantic wedding he trespasses, Jaggi has notions about love and the person he will fall in love with. So, when he meets Kartika, he falls deeply, madly and hopelessly in love with her. Armed with the belief that she is his destiny he illegally travels across Europe to meet her in London, where she is about to get married. He gets captured to be deported by the same diplomat whose ideas of love he had imbibed. Only now, the diplomat’s own marriage is nearing a perilous finish.
THE MEAT AND THE POTATOES:
A wedding toast delivered by diplomat Gautam (Mohit Raina) during his wedding party, about how he met his fiancé Ira (Diana Penty) forms the ideology of lover boy Jaggi.
Gautam and Ira, who had met in French language classes in Paris are deeply in love. So much so that Gautam toasts : “If I hadn’t met you in London, it’d have been Paris or Amsterdam. They’d always end up meeting because “Tum meri kismet ho” (You’re my destiny).
Jaggi (Sunny Kaushal) claps the hardest and creates a love mantra around this destiny notion. When he meets his opposite attracts girl, “Dil ko touch kar gayi baat” comes back as his every lasting mantra for his Shiddat – (intensity ) in love for 140 minutes.
Our takeaway: Mohit Raina. For Keeps.
