Top Gun is a cult classic. Let us say that again. The 1986 film, directed by Tony Scott was all things that mad military movies moving toward Hollywood-style story telling possible.

It was tempered by a savvy script and cutting-edge stunt work but it also provided slo-mo volleyball game, played by bronzed and shirtless flyboys, the testosterone and fetishistic posturing, chicken-fighting and the 60’s style lass ( who owns a bar) for class.

Top Gun Maverick is all that nostalgia wrapped up in a mega-dose of ever grinning Tom Cuise looking just as hot on those wheels as he rides from  the Mojave to San Diego.

Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and the people in his high-speed orbit are back and We swear We haven’nt been happier about anyone else appearing on our horizon more than these folks.

The beauty of Tom Cruise is that he looks his age but his performance or his presence does not overpower the character.
