ASHWIN GANGARAJU TO DIRECT “1770” BASED ON BAKIM CHANDRA CHATTERJEE’S ANANDA MATH

SS.Rajamouli who has become popular for directing the films such as ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’ seems to have inspired his former assistant Ashwin Gangaraju too, who is now gearing up to direct a period based film titled ‘1770’.

The film has been announced officially on the 75th Independence day and the film will be based on the popular novel ‘Ananda Math’ written by Bengali writer Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
The film is said to be a multi-lingual one that will be funded by a group of producers and a popular Bengali writer-director Ram Kamal Mukherjee will act as a guide for its makers.

The motion poster of the film has been released today by the team on account of the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’. Ashwin Gangaraju is reported to have worked under SS. Rajamouli’s films before such as ‘Eega’, and ‘Baahubali’ and he made his directional debut with ‘Akaashavani’ last year.

The above ‘1770’ is said to be his second directional venture whose film’s story and screenplay will be adapted and written by Rajamouli’s father KV. Vijayendra Prasad and the makers are reportedly very happy with the project due their collaboration with the established and proven crew.

The film will be made and released on a big scale and the makers have reportedly done a vast research on its content and making of this film.

It is known that the ‘Vandematram’ song was first published by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1870, that shook the British empire and united the country as one. More details of the film will be reportedly revealed by Diwali 2022.
