CBC COMEDY “SORT OF” SEASON 2 PREMIERES ON NOV 15

Created by Bilal Baig and Fab Filippo, Sort Of is a television sitcom made for CBC Television. It is produced by Sienna Films and is directed by Filippo and Renuka Jeyapalan.

The first season of the series premiered on November 9, 2021 and it has received positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show focuses on Sabi Mahboob, a gender-fluid millennial who contains various identities, starting from being a bartender and bookseller to fulfilling his duties as the youngest child in a large Pakistani family. Sabi is at a point in transition in every aspect of their life, from gender to sexuality, family and career. The show is a coming-of-age story of a different sort, eschewing labels in favor of something more genuine.

Jennifer Kim, SVP, International Originals, HBO Max said that Baig and Filippo’s honest and insightful storytelling is a lesson in unraveling conventional views of identity. Remarking HBO Max’s cooperation with CBC and Sienna Films for the project, she said that they are excited to partner for another season.
