The action-thriller Kill Bok Soon is all set to release at The 73rd Berlin International Film Festival which will be held from February 16th to the 26th of this year. And reports have it that the actress Jeon Do Yeon is ready to depart for Germany today (February 16th) for the screening of the movie. The actress’s agency announced, “Jeon Do Yeon will depart for Berlin, Germany today (16th) via Incheon International Airport”. The movie has been invited to the special section of the film festival.
Kill Bok Soon revolves around Gil Bok Soon – a single mother of a teenage daughter who is also well-known as a skilled and lethal assassin. She lives under the disguise of an employee at an Event Planning Company. After years of service to M.K. Ent (the agency where she works as a contract assassin), Bok Soon is having retirement thoughts, and she plans on spending quality time with her daughter. But hurdles shake her retirement plans when she finds her next target at a parent-teacher meeting.
The description on the Netflix YouTube channel says, “At work, she’s a renowned assassin. At home, she’s a single mom to a teenage daughter. Killing? That’s easy. It’s parenting that’s the hard part”.
The Korean movie is helmed by Byun Sung Hyun (also the director of The Merciless and Kingmaker).
The ‘Berlin International Film Festival’ is one of the largest and most renowned public film festivals in the world which shows around 400 films in Berlin at multiple venues. There are nine sections in which movies chosen are screened. Among the 400 movies, only twenty movies are nominated for the top awards in the festival’s Competition section. Golden Bear and Silver Bears are the major awards any movie can win at the festival. The verdict is decided by an international jury.
Let’s hope we hear good news about Kill Bok Soon and its actors winning international accolades.
Those wanting to watch the film starring Jeon Do Yeon on web platforms will have to wait until March 31st for the movie to be available on Netflix.
