OLD WORLD CHARM OF ‘JUBILEE’ WILL SWAY YOU AWAY

Jubilee (TV Series 2023– ) - IMDbSet in the 1940s, Jubilee is an Amazon Prime special that is worth the watch. It’s everything in the old-world charm that you would want to get, the warm editing and the attention to the smallest detail. The moment the show opened I knew I would love it and it did not disappoint.  It is the kind of show you are supposed to like.  The plot revolves around the dirty politics that go down behind the scenes of Show Biz, from blood to infidelity. The cinematography is elegant, it has a flair to it while the set styling is no short of a feature and Vikramaditya Motwane who also worked on Sacred Games, really pulled out his best guns.

Jubilee OTT Release Date: Amazon Prime Announces New Series Live Streaming from April 7 - MySmartPriceA period piece that is accurate: a rare piece to come across especially when done right is a feast to the eyes. Immediately reminding me of Om Shanti Om, it stood out because of how dark it was both visually and in emotion. On a parallel, I thought about Netflix’s miniseries Hollywood which was set in a similar time frame, and discussed the industry post the Second World War. I loved Jubilee over Hollywood because it was relatable, it was a world we have always knowns from afar that was coming out from below.  Dialogues like ,” If I have to choose between saving my marriage and saving my studio, I will save my studio,” take your breath away. Strong, independent roles with actors that can live up to them are what Jubilee does well. Splendid acting by Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddhant Khanna stole the show for me but Prosenjit Chatterjee was no lesser.

The series pays attention to every small detail and because it doesn’t undermine anything, it excels at everything, the love and work put into the sepia show can be seen. The stunnign writing and plot is not supported rather accentuated by the visual beauty and the acting is what makes this an exceptional watch. Not much to disclose about the plot because this is one that you can not miss. Watch the first five episoded on Amazon Prime, NOW!
