Based on the novel “Cuo Liao” “Only for Love”, a love story between a financial journalist and an ”overbearing” CEO. Zheng Shuyi may be an intelligent finance mind, but she is young and bold otherwise. So much so that a guy pursuing her for years tagged her along as a boyfriend while serenading a more affluent woman on the side.
The good thing about our lady here is that she is super optimistic and got over the scumbag pretty quickly. And then she set her eyes on the CEO of Mingyu Yunchuang, Shi Yan.
If you love the domineering CEO tropes, Shi Yan fits the bill. He is attracted to Shuyi when he sees her waiting for him at an offsite conference where she is chasing him for an interview. He had been impressed by her financial analysis and writing for a Finance magazine, “Financial Vision,” but had not met her before that.
With great difficulty, Shuyi finally gets to meet Yan to interview him. She takes a two-hour ride with him to a ranch, where he teaches her to horse ride. That ride changes their relationship to more intimate. Yan feels his attraction towards Shuyi accelerate, and it is not only physical.
Shuyi feels the same. Being the little naughty imp she is, to tease Yan, she decides to declare her interest in him. One night, as she is working on revising his interview to his satisfaction, she decides to tell him that she likes him and is going to pursue him.
And here starts the crazy cat and mouse where the proverbial domineering CEO, who loves the attention she is giving him in public, tries to poker face her in person. Determined not to get miffed, Shuyi continues to text him flirtatiously, and he keeps one-linering her back.
Till he starts getting jealous of all possible handsome young men, Shuyi is interviewing and connecting.
Shuyi wants to enhance the online publication of her magazine and approaches Yan with a series of interviews to help him assess his acquisitions. As she waits for him to agree with her, she keeps sending him cheeky messages, which he keeps re-reading night after night – while poker-facing her otherwise.
The chemistry between Bai Lu and Dylan Wang is explosive. You will feel like rewatching the episodes over and over. So watch this cute romance with intense emotions, passionate interactions, and often a volatile, unpredictable male lead.
The connection between the two leads is so strong that you can feel overwhelmed as they consume their thoughts and energies. The intensity of the attraction between Shuyi and Yan results in dramatic conflicts and emotional rollercoasters for the eight episodes is crazy magic on screen.
