DIL HI TOH HAI: THAT’S WHAT YOU GOTTA SAY TO KARAN KUNDRRA

Let us start with the cast and their chemistry. That is the high point of this web fare.

Karan Kundra as Ritwick, sexy, Mills and Boonish to the boot. But Season 3, apart from the theme song, where he looks super sexy, he kinda fails to look the part.

Yogita Bihani, as Palak super cute, looks great on screen, bubbly, fresh as a lily, vixenishly sexy in the right frames, a little new to the camera in Season 1, then starts getting more comfortable later.

There is a story in the first season, a little bit high on drama, dizzyingly soaring on romance and oh oozing with such erotically elevated chemistry.

And then the fun stops. In the web series world, where story is the bulwark of the show, there seems to be none. The problem with the show is that it does not have the plot to keep the quintessential internet, on the go audience hooked enough. Nothing exists in the story to spur the neurotransmitters for a play value. No hook, no catch, no clip. Just manqué portrayals of characters not well rooted in justifying the actions they are performing.

The serials need to stop the shallow storyline of people meddling in each other’s lives, parents projecting the desires of their lives on their children, superficially defined choices and just plain unwarranted complications. That worked for the initial days of Saas-bahu serials. Now- NA. Bad idea to keep repeating bad ideas.

Then, in the research department, the writing is very weak. Come on guys at @altbalaji – just audit some facts before airing them. It is criminally unacceptable for a show to characterize a main lead as a business grad from Harvard and a couple of wepisodes later say he studied in London. Harvard is in Massachusetts, US of A.

So what started as a promising viewing for the week of three seasons, ended up in countless fast forwards in the quest to find a plot. Which unfortunately remains unearthed.

@altbalaji it’s an epic fail to use the tactics of TV serials for the internet audience. Please find a real story to use the talent of hunks like Karan and a fresh face like Yogita
