The Spine chilling U-turn

The movie that dropped this week, “U-turn,” is a spine-chilling supernatural thriller movie. It revolves around the plot of strange accidents at the flyover and a Journalist who unveils the culprit behind it. It is the remake of the 2016 Kannada film “U-turn” and was filmed in Tamil and Telegu languages, respectively. It was written and directed by Pawan Kumar and produced by Srinivasa Chitturi and Rambabu Bandaru. The film takes you through several courses of action that develop the plot and thicken it eventually.

It is a wholesome adventurous journey of a courageous reporter, Radhika Bakshi, and the crime reporter Arjun Sinha who trace back the accidents and analyze the situations in depth. They set out to discover shocking truths about the incidents that changed how they view things.

Radhika, an aspiring journalist, decides to cover an article on flyover accidents where motorists move the concrete blocks to make a U-turn to skip the traffic congestion. The blocks are left on the road in the middle, which leads to these accidents. She begins scooping out information regarding the accidents with the help of the crime reporter Aditya. In her attempt to find out about the motorists, she finds a homeless man who helps her discover the vehicle numbers. In a sudden twist of events, she is accused of murdering the man who took a U-turn.

WATCH REVIEW

Alaya F is the star of this movie, and we are blown by the range of emotions she has portrayed.

This powerhouse of a woman has graced the screen with her performance alongside Manu Rishi Chadha, Shriidhar Dubey, and Aashim Gulati. It is not a copy-pasted remake version of the Kannada movie but a well-thought and executed version. The story is hardcore and keeps you hooked throughout the runtime.

It certainly has elements of horror that make your soul shiver. At the same time, it also has some non-serious elements, which make it less appealing. Overall, it has an appealing storyline, and it is told convincingly. However, the movie doesn’t meet your core expectations due to the faulty and shabbily written script. The writers started it on a gripping note, but the overshadowing of supernatural elements in the second half makes it dull.

The movie had the grit and ability to be entertaining and thrilling had they focused more on developing the core story and characterization. It has an impressive bg score, and the ensemble cast does give a brilliant performance throughout the movie. It will be a good weekend one-time watch if that is your purpose.

The movie streams on zee5 and Zee5 Global exclusively. Here is what we think about the movie! Write back to us and tell us your thoughts.
